Hello predheads, hope everyone had a GREAT summer and loaded up on warm weather and good times to keep you going for the cold months ahead. Yesterday was the first official day of autumn, so I guess that means I’d better get back to work so I wanted to start off by showing off a GORGEOUS Predator 1 mask and bio helmet combo that we recently delivered to a client. The set includes a latex mask custom painted P1 style with dreads and rings and a built in magnet system that allows the bio to lock in place. The bio is padded so it doesn’t damage the paint on the mask and had LEDs installed in the tri-laser housing. All components were made my Biohunter and painted by my good friend Joe. Everything on set mask was produced and painted in the USA.

One of the benefits of Predatorstuff is that we have a huge network of talented artists and vendors allowing us to source just about anything for our clients. We continue to locate rare kits and props for clients even a decade or more since they were produced, contact us for anything you may need and we’ll try to get it for you! Needless to say, our client LOVED his new mask and bio helmet and he’s definitely ready to terrorize folks this Halloween.

Anyhow, let’s get on with the photos!

Thanks for looking! Please tell us what you think by leaving a comment below.

I was really stoked when I found out CoolProps had picked up several new prop replica licenses, including AvP and the Alien franchise of movies and they just posted the first look and the pre-orders for some AMAZING 1:1 Alien Warrior busts from Aliens that are faithfully based off the original molds. I really dig the dual offering so you can get your choice of the neutral brown coloration of the props, or you can get the Blue Edition. which faithfully replicates the blue hued lighting from the Aliens movie when Ripley goes in to fetch Newt and kick some bug-ass.

Bother versions are 18″ tall and 33″ long and while the weight hasn’t been offficially announced, expect this to be in the 25lbs range. They also both have the inner mouth visible through the silver teeth, again painted true to the original props. CoolProps has teamed up with Sideshow for distribution and here’s the official description and details:

Sideshow and CoolProps are pleased to present the Alien Warrior (Blue Edition) Life-Size Head Prop Replica. The “Alien Warrior” was part of dozens of aliens that were propagated from the alien queen in the 1986 movie Aliens. Alien Warriors appeared many times in the movie, but only a few suits were made for shooting.

CoolProps has produced this piece based on the original mold, which captures the distinctive features of the Alien Warrior, such as its musculature around the jaw and the bony ridges running along the Xenomorph’s dome, and features an array of piping.

Faithfully reproduced and painted based on the scene when Ripley, who has just returned to LV-426, again encounters the Alien Warriors, the blue and white lighting in the dark was translated through using a deep blue paint.

Those hostile silver fangs will give you a real fear of the Alien Warrior.

But wait, there’s more! I know not everyone is a fan of Alien: Resurrection but I personally got a real kick out of this movie even though I thought the cloning Ripley arc was a bit much. But it was an interesting and somewhat ballsy deviation from the standard Alien franchise, even trying to completely re-write how an Alien is reproduced. The biggest selling point for me to be honest was that it had Ron Perlman and the AMAZING Michael Wincott in the movie, and I don’t care what you put Mr. Wincott in, you have to love that voice that sounds like gravel being poured over a rock screen.

Anyhow, along with being introduced to strategic Alien thinking and some Olympic style swimming skills, we got to see this ugly bugger:

Sideshow and CoolProps are pleased to present the Alien Newborn Life-Size Head Prop Replica. The controversial creature, which is a hybrid of human and Xenomorph, made its shocking appearance in the movie Alien Resurrection. This Alien Newborn’s physical appearance was dramatically different from any other Xenomorph, even though it was born from the Alien Queen.

CoolProps has crafted the Newborn Head in 1:1 scale, with its curious appearance based on the original mold. Artists were able to reproduce the violent yet adorable appearance by replicating the original paintwork.

You can never look away once these cruel but innocent eyes have caught you.

This is one gooey, ugly looking badass baby, not to mention pretty huge at over 20″ high and 26″ long. And like the Alien Warrior busts, this guy is up for pre-order and will be shipping to buyers around December 2016.

That’s it from the Alien world and CoolProps for now but you can expect a ton more cool props coming soon and I’m hoping for more Predator goodies!

Please leave a comment and tell us what you think of these new pieces!

Happy collecting,
Dan

I am REALLY sad that the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is absolutely getting torn a new one by critiques all over the world and is currently hovering at 29% on Rotten Tomatoes as I write this. I was SO excite for this movie, but equally disappointing when I learned it would be directed by Zach Snyder, whom I still haven’t forgiven for the mess he made of the Watchmen movie. Unfortunately the fears of many were realized as movie pundits started destroying this movie last Thursday. The concept, the costumes and the controversy were so exciting and I couldn’t wait to see this unfold on the big-screen, but alas, I’ll be waiting for the torrent *ahem* Blu-ray to be available. Such a shame, especially after finally recovering from the pain around my ribs from laughing my arse off while watching the awesome Deadpool flic.

Luckily, we’ve got Sideshow Collectibles, Hot Toys and Prime 1 Studios absolutely KILLING it on the collectibles for this movie, and the statues are nothing short of stunning. I’m not going to list everything that you can find, but I wanted to show off some of my favorite pieces so far, starting with my favorite of the bunch, Sideshow’s Armored Batman Premium Format statue:

This thing is completely off the chain and the photos look so damn good! The piece is designed by artists Rachel Roubicek and Zane Yarbrough and sculpting and casting is handled by the very competent folks over at Ironhead Studio and they put together the beautiful master build for the prototype. This is really by far my favorite piece from the movie that I’ve seen so far, the sculpt and pose is amazing and the overall size makes this statue a giant Premium Format statue at almost 2 feet high. And the best part? Yeah that’s right… the light up eyes!

As most of my friends know, I am a huge Superman buff, so I’m a bit ashamed that I didn’t lead off with ol’ Supes, but I really dig the Batman armor suit so much, even though Superman would still kick the living snot out of Batman on any given day with his hands tied. So let’s follow-up with a Superman piece, and I am BLOWN-AWAY by this sheer size and beauty of this piece, the Superman Polystone Statue by Prime 1 Studios:

For the love of everything holy, GOOD LAWRD that likeness is bang on to Henry Cavil and the paint application is just insane, look at the quality of the skin tones from the translucent resin they used, wow! It would appear that since I was away from the collecting scene, there’s a new company in town putting out some AMAZING pieces, and that is Prime 1 Studios. I noticed them last year with some new pieces and believe me, my credit card was itching BADLY! The detail and paint on this statue is insane, and the best part? HALF SCALE! Yep, this badboy is 3 and a half feet tall, standing at 41″. Some other cool tidbits on this piece are the complete fabric costume (This is like a Premium Format statue on steroids), you can swap out between 2 different emblems on the base plus the base has LED lights on it for the display. If you have the budget this gorgeous statue commands, it’s worth every penny!

And finally, the Hot Toys Superman is a MUST, I have mine on order already and will be proudly displaying this guy at work in my office, which is slowly starting to look like a collection and I’m expecting a visit from HR in a month or two. Look at this guy:

Don’t have the Prime 1 Studios kind of budget? Here’s the next best thing because he too has the full fabric suit AND a bang on likeness on the Henry Cavill head-sculpt AND he’s fully pose-able so you can pose Superman in to whatever ass-kicking position you want! He comes with the usual awesome features all Hot Toys sets come with such as extra hands AND the exclusive version of the figure includes a light up rock of Kryptonite just in case Supes starts getting out of line and makes moves on your girl or attempts to pilfer your fridge.

So those are my favorites I’ve seen so far, what about you? Please leave a comment below and tell me which collectibles you love and what you thought about the film if you’ve already seen it – just keep a lid on the spoilers.

Happy Easter everyone!
Dan
